Course description
This webinar series is for all teachers who want to enable their students to think for themselves and to self-direct their learning.
As a webinar attendee, you will learn about the tools and methods that allow for student-led learning and how to apply them in class, with a focus on remote and blended learning options.
This webinar will consist of 5 lessons, one lesson per week in the Standard version, one lesson per day in the Intensive version. Webinar recordings and other resources will be available even after you have finished the course.
Course structure
Topic 1: Factors of Motivation
Learn about the various factors that drive student’s motivation and how to leverage them in class.
Topic 2: Learning Styles
Explore different learning styles and their underlying principles. Learn how to give students the options to apply their most effective learning style.
Topic 3: Deductive vs Inductive Approaches & Case Studies
Learn how to create & apply case studies and other tools that can foster critical thinking and ownership of learning in students.
Topic 4: X-Based Learning
X-based learning encompasses inquiry, problem, and task-based learning. In this session, you will learn how to apply these methods and learn about some useful tools to structure your approach.
Topic 5: Constructive Feedback & Rubrics
Giving constructive feedback is a balancing act of making the students understand how they can improve without dispiriting them. In this session, you will learn how to apply constructive feedback effectively. You will also discover some useful tools for formative assessment and peer-to-peer evaluation.
