Inclusion in education, as well as in society, is one of the most important priorities of the European Union and has been selected as a specific goal of the current Erasmus+ program. Yet, what is inclusion?
The course explores its many facets, and links them to European values, on the one hand, and practical strategies to bring these values into the classroom, on the other.
Created for teachers of either primary or secondary schools, the course analyses the concepts of culture, identity, multiculturalism, inclusion, diversity, equity, human rights, and democracy. Moreover, it proposes several activities teachers can implement to raise awareness about these concepts in their educational settings.
By the end of the course, online learners will have gained a deeper understanding of inclusion and related concepts. Moreover, they will have gained practical skills for creating inclusive, equitable, and democratic learning environments that promote respect for diversity and human rights.

Implementing Human Rights in the Classroom
The module explores the importance of human rights in education and provides guidance on how to promote and protect human rights in the classroom. Moreover, it examines the role of migration and cross-cultural mediation in education.
Bringing Democracy to the Classroom
The module focuses on the importance of democracy in education and provides strategies for implementing democratic practices in the classroom. Learners will realize the importance of sensitive debate and developing a culture of tolerance in the classroom.
